Our flagship location opened on the Upper East Side in 1993 and over the years our family-owned and operated specialty food business has become a New York institution. Our business was born of a passion for fine foods from Sicily, Italy, and around the globe, which drives our desire to share the absolute highest quality products and authentic hand-made prepared foods and pastries with our customers.

As you enter, you will see our A&V Cafe where you can sit and enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner or simply grab an espresso or coffee to go!

The Salumeria is well stocked with spicy-Sicilian salamis, the finest Prosciuttos, and fresh roasted turkey carved right off the bone. White aproned butchers cut and grind all of the meats in house and our Pastaioli can be seen throughout the day hanging fresh sheets of homemade pasta to dry then hand-rolling and hand-cutting them to pack.

Our fish market is one of the best in the city! Fresh from the water fish is delivered daily to our store where our experienced fish mongers hand cut and filet them in house to preserve freshness. Gleaming with scallops, squid, codfish and more, directly sourced from Montauk boats, you’re sure to find a wide variety of sustainable, fresh seafood, homemade salads and oven-ready options.

Our market is a one-stop-shop for all your foodie needs and gives you a true “Taste of Sicily” with its layout, style and artisanal atmosphere.

We have a variety of fresh breads and wedges of homemade focaccia that are baked in house in our brick ovens; a towering cheese display that stocks everything from imported specialty cheeses like Caciotta Toscana al Tartufo (a Tuscan cow and sheep’s milk blend with truffle) to domestic rounds of Humboldt Fog and you can’t forget our fresh, homemade mozzarella being made every 20 minutes right before your eyes!

Many of our prepared foods come straight from Agata’s own repertoire of recipes. Our “Angolo di Agata” or Agata’s Corner is filled with signature Italian dishes like our spaghetti involtini (spaghetti wrapped in eggplant), Sicilian caponata, polenta cocina and a variety of delicious pasta dishes like our tagliatelle with truffle.

From small dinner parties, to corporate events, to family celebrations our knowledgeable Catering staff delivers excellent service designed to exceed expectations. Based out of our Upper East Side location they provide catering anywhere in Manhattan and bring our passion for high quality specialty food from our market to your table.

In 2018 we introduced our Event Series offering Kids Classes at our Upper East Side Location. Classes include everything from cupcake and cake decorating, to pizza making and even tasting & learning about different fruits and veggies. We host holiday events like Pumpkin or Easter Egg Decorating and Breakfast & Cookie Decorating with Santa. This summer we kicked off our Adult series with Cheese & Wine Pairings and Cake Decorating.
